the windup… and the pitch

Hi I’m Kacy! My job and my love for the game of baseball has brought me from Columbus, Ohio in the minor leagues to the big leagues— Chicago, Illinois; home of two Major League Baseball teams. If you asked this die hard Cleveland Indians fan in 2016 if I’d be here, I’d say you’re crazy but I guess I’m the crazy one because I have, in fact, moved to the streets of Wrigleyville, where the Cubs call home and the W is raised. Yes, I’m just a few short blocks away from Wrigley Field.

And I’m happy to be here … to share my love for baseball, learn more about this great city and everything fair, foul and in between. So hey Chicago, whaddya say?

the friendliest neighbors

It was the moment I visited Wrigley during the Cubs v. Cardinals series at the end of the 2018 season that I knew I’d love it here. I was charmed. Everyone was so friendly to me and folks offered to take our picture. Wrigleyville definitely has that midwestern vibe and walking around the area makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.

thinking outside the batter’s box

Opening day. All you have to do is say the words and you feel the shutters thrown wide, the room air out, the light pour in. In baseball, no other day is so pure with possibility. No scores yet, no losses, no blame or disappointment. No hangover, at least until the game’s over.

So what will we be doing all season long? I’ll be bringing you content, sights & sounds from the game and around it; everything from the fans I meet to the stories they have to tell. I hope you’ll find it here as I try to bring you closer to the action. And if you’re here? Well, then I hope I meet you too!
